The 51-year-old celebrity chef arrived at Rock in his new £200,000 customised Land Rover Defender with wife Tana on Friday.
The pair spent an hour inspecting the site.
Locals in the hamlet, popular with the rich and famous, are unhappy at his plan to build a main house and garden cottage in the grounds.
Some say the cottage will ruin the area of outstanding natural beauty and their view of the Camel estuary.
Owners of the adjoining property, Andrew and Anne Nisbet, added that Ramsay made “no effort” to consult with local residents.
The Hell’s Kitchen star bought a 1920s five bedroom property on the site for £4.4million in 2015.
But it needed modernising and, after an eight-month battle, Ramsay received permission to bulldoze the home and build from scratch.
A spokesman for Ramsay said then: “Gordon, Tana and the family are very much looking forward to spending time in their new home.
“They are committed to contributing to, and delighted to be investing in, the future of the Cornish community they will hopefully be a part of for many years.”
